Stash Report Week 14

I fell off the wagon and bought fabric, but I had a gun to my head... really! Well, maybe not, but it couldn't be helped. I bought 1 1/3 yards of fabric at Joann's because it was perfect for a paper piecing project we're doing at guild in June amd I have enough that I'm going to share it with my friends so it should get used up. I also had a gift certificate to Quilts From the Heart in Albuquerque. When you have one, you have to spend it, right? Cindy and Phoebe, who do the S'Mores Retreats, used a picture of my quilt for their brochure and forgot to ask permission... I would have let them use it anyway, but they are honest and felt bad so they bought me a gift certificate. I purchased 4 yards of fabric and... it just so happened that the quilt shop was having a 30/30 sale... 30% off on the 30th of the month so I ended up paying less that $2.00 for my fabric. What a deal! So I am in the red for the week, but still very much in the black for the year.

Stash Report for week 14:

Fabric bought this week: 5 1/3 yards
Fabric used this week: 3 1/3 yards

Fabric bought YTD: 37 1/3 yards
Fabric used YTD: 90.5 yards

Stash busted: I have used 53.17 yards more than I have bought.

I made a tablerunner this week which used 2 2/3 yards of fabric, It is not quilted yet, but will be soon. I also used 2/3 yard for binding of 2 charity quilts for Busy Bee Quilt Shop in Edgewood. I offered to help Cheri quilt the charity quilts her shop makes and I'm also binding them so they are finished when she gets them back and ready to go to people who need them. The batting and binding are coming out of my stash.

With the year's total being in the black, I think it's VERY okay to coast awhile!

I lived in Albuquerque for almost 20 years and know right where that shop is! I bought some fabric there a couple of times, but mostly I bought at the shop on Juan Tabo and Menaul--can't remember the name of it, but it's where I took my first class.

Well, I love that idea for a sale!! 30% off for the 30th of the month!! That is cool!!! And look at the price you paid, you had to buy- you would be crazy to pass up that deal. Great report. see you next week.
